Genuine Zebra 800300-350EM ribbon cartridge: full-colour YMCKO, 200 images, for the Zebra ZC300 card printer. Five panels — yellow, magenta, cyan, black and a clear overlay — so one pass gives you a full-colour photo card with a protective finish. A cleaning roller is included in every cartridge. The EM suffix is the EMEA part, which is the one a UAE printer will accept.

Zebra region-codes its ZC ribbons in the part number suffix. EM covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa — the correct region for the UAE. A North America or Latin America ribbon can be rejected by the printer.

It is the region code. Zebra sells the same ZC ribbon under different suffixes for different territories — EM for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), and separate parts for North America and Latin America. The printer reads the cartridge smartchip and can refuse a ribbon coded for another region. Zebra's own support forum carries a thread titled "The ZC300 does not recognize the 800300-550EM ribbon", so this catches people out. For a printer bought and used in the UAE, EM is the one you want.
No. Despite the family resemblance, Zebra runs three separate colour ribbon lines: the ZC100 takes 800100-150, the ZC300 takes this 800300 series, and the ZC150 and ZC350 take the 800350 series. Only two parts cross over between the ZC100 and ZC300 — the 800300-303 mono black and the 800300-370 half-panel colour. Check the model badge on the front of your machine before ordering, or send us a photo.
200 is Zebra's published image count, and it means 200 single-sided cards. A YMCKO ribbon lays one set of panels per card face regardless of how much ink the design uses, so a mostly white badge consumes exactly the same ribbon as a full-bleed photo card. Dual-sided colour printing on both faces halves the count. Failed or rejected cards also consume a panel set, so allow a small margin on a big run.
Whenever the card carries no photograph or colour logo. The mono black 800300-303EM gives 1500 images against this ribbon's 200, so for text, barcodes and a black logo it is dramatically cheaper per card. Visitor passes, library cards, asset tags and stock-control cards are all good candidates. Keep a colour ribbon loaded for staff badges and a mono for everything else if your volumes justify it.
The ZC300 is built not to. Zebra's specification sheet states the printer is designed to work only with Zebra genuine ribbons, and the cartridge carries a smartchip the printer authenticates before it will run. Beyond the authentication, Zebra's printhead warranty policy reserves the right to inspect the supplies used with a failed printhead. A card printhead is the most expensive part of the machine, which is a poor thing to gamble on a cheaper cartridge.
