Zebra Consumables · Genuine ZC Ribbon Cartridge
Zebra 800300-303EM — Monochrome Black Ribbon, 1500 Images, for the ZC100 and ZC300
Genuine Zebra 800300-303EM ribbon cartridge: monochrome black, 1500 images, and one of only two ribbons Zebra shares across both the ZC100 and the ZC300. For cards carrying text, barcodes and a black logo it delivers roughly seven times the yield of a colour ribbon, at a far lower cost per card. Cleaning roller included, EMEA region part.

Key Features
1500 Images From One Cartridge
A colour YMCKO ribbon gives 200 or 300 cards. This gives 1500. If your card has no photograph, running mono is the single largest saving available on card printing consumables.
Fits Both the ZC100 and the ZC300
Zebra's colour ribbons are model-specific, but this mono black cartridge is listed for the ZC100 and ZC300 together. If you run one of each, it is the only ribbon you can stock once and use in both machines.
EM Is the EMEA Part Number
Zebra region-codes its ZC ribbons in the suffix. EM covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa — correct for the UAE. A ribbon coded for another region can be refused by the printer.
Detailed Specifications
- Zebra ZC100 single-sided card printer
- Zebra ZC300 — single-sided and dual-sided models
- Zebra lists 800300-303 for the ZC100 and ZC300 together. It is one of only two shared parts across those two machines, the other being the half-panel colour 800300-370. The ZC150 and ZC350 are a different family and take the 800350 series
- This ribbon prints black only. It cannot produce photographs or coloured logos, and it lays down no clear overlay panel — so a mono card has less surface protection than one finished with a YMCKO ribbon

Need-to-Know
Mono is not a lesser colour ribbon, it is a different job. The question is simply whether your card design contains a photograph or a colour logo.

Frequently Asked Questions
A great deal. One mono cartridge covers 1500 cards where a 300-image colour ribbon covers 300 — five cartridges' worth of colour, at a fraction of the price. For a visitor pass or an asset tag that carries only a name, a barcode and a black logo, colour is simply money burnt. The sensible pattern for many offices is to keep a colour ribbon for staff badges and a mono ribbon for everything else, and swap between them.
Yes, provided the logo is black or can be reproduced acceptably in black. The ribbon lays black resin, which gives very crisp edges — genuinely sharper for text and barcodes than the black panel of a colour ribbon. What it cannot do is reproduce a colour logo, a photograph, or a tinted background. If brand colour on the card is non-negotiable, you need a colour ribbon.
Yes. Zebra's own ribbon part number listing shows 800300-303 against ZC100/ZC300 jointly, which makes it unusual — the colour ribbons in this family are strictly model-specific. If you operate one of each machine it is the only cartridge you can buy once and use in both. Note the ZC100 also has a higher-yield mono option of its own, the 2000-image 800100-101, which the ZC300 cannot take.
Worth thinking about. A YMCKO colour ribbon finishes each card with a clear overlay panel that seals the print. A mono ribbon does not, so the printed surface is more exposed to abrasion. In practice this rarely matters for short-life passes, but for a card that will be handled daily for years, either move to a colour ribbon for the overlay or budget for a laminating printer and composite card stock.
It is the region code. Zebra sells the same ZC ribbon under different suffixes for different territories — EM for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), with separate parts for North America and Latin America. The printer reads the cartridge smartchip and can refuse a ribbon coded for another region. For a printer bought and used in the UAE, EM is the correct one.
