The Second Black Panel Is the Point
YMCKOK adds a second black resin panel after the overlay. The printer uses the colour panels on the front and the extra black on the reverse, so terms, a barcode or a signature strip print in the same cycle without burning a colour set.

Run a plain YMCKO ribbon on a dual-sided job and each card eats two full colour sets, halving your yield. This ribbon does the same card for one, which is why 230 images here beats 280 images of YMCKO for two-sided work.

It is a second black resin panel positioned after the overlay in the panel sequence. The printer lays yellow, magenta, cyan, black and overlay on the front of the card, flips it, then uses the extra black panel on the reverse. That gives you a full-colour front and a crisp black back from one cycle of the ribbon.
Because the numbers count different things. If your card is dual-sided, a YMCKO ribbon spends two complete panel sets per card, so 280 images becomes roughly 140 finished cards. This ribbon spends one set per card, so 230 images is 230 finished cards. For two-sided work it is the better part despite the smaller headline figure.
It will load and print, but there is no point. A single-sided machine never flips the card, so the second black panel is skipped and wasted on every card. You would be paying more for a lower yield than the 800033-340 YMCKO gives you on the same job. Only buy this ribbon if your printer has the flipper.
Not with this ribbon — the reverse panel is black only. If you need full colour on both faces, use the standard YMCKO 800033-340 and accept that each card consumes two panel sets. In practice very few card designs need colour on the back, which is exactly why Zebra makes the YMCKOK configuration.
No. The single overlay panel is applied to the colour front, which is the surface that needs protecting from abrasion and UV. The black-only reverse is left unoverlaid. That is standard across YMCKOK ribbons from every manufacturer and is rarely an issue, since resin black is more durable than dye-sublimated colour to begin with.
