UISP Wave | 5 GHz PtP Radio
Ubiquiti Wave MLO5 Dual 5 GHz Point-to-Point Radio (Wave-MLO5)
The Ubiquiti Wave MLO5 is a point-to-point radio with dual 5 GHz WiFi 7-based radios and Multi-Link Operation (MLO) for enhanced throughput and reliable connectivity. Ubiquiti rates it at 5+ Gbps total throughput and up to 100 km link range. It has one 10 GbE RJ45 port and one 10G SFP+ port, a dedicated spectral analysis radio, GPS and integrated Bluetooth, and connects to an external airMAX, airFiber X, UISP Dish or UISP Horn antenna.
Quick Glance
Key Features
Dual 5 GHz radios with Multi-Link Operation
Two 5 GHz WiFi 7-based radios, each 2 x 2 MIMO, combined with Multi-Link Operation (MLO) for enhanced throughput and reliable connectivity. Ubiquiti rates total throughput at 5+ Gbps and link range at 100+ km. MLO operation is currently limited to 20 km; Ubiquiti says longer ranges are coming via future firmware updates.
10 GbE and SFP+ uplinks, quad-core processing
One 10 GbE RJ45 port and one 10G SFP+ port carry the link into the wired network. Inside are a quad-core IPQ5322 at 1.5 GHz and 1 GB DDR4. A dedicated spectral analysis radio, channel puncturing, GPS and integrated Bluetooth support planning and keeping the link clean.
Built for the mast, with your choice of antenna
An aluminium alloy and UV-resistant polycarbonate enclosure rated IPX6, pole mounting on 1-2" (25.4-50.8 mm) poles and an operating range of -40 to 60° C. Two waterproof RP-SMA RF connections take an airMAX, airFiber X, UISP Dish or UISP Horn antenna. Powered by passive PoE from the included 54V 10 GbE PoE adapter.
Detailed Specifications
All specifications are Ubiquiti's own, from its official tech specs and store pages. Throughput and range vary with environmental conditions; operating frequencies and TX power depend on the regulatory region. MLO operation is currently limited to 20 km.
Need-to-Know
- The Wave MLO5 is a connectorised radio: Ubiquiti lists two waterproof RP-SMA RF connections and no antenna gain. Ubiquiti states it is compatible with airMAX, airFiber X, UISP Dish and UISP Horn antennas; an antenna is not listed as included, so plan one for each end of the link.
- MLO operation is limited to 20 km today. Ubiquiti states that longer MLO ranges are coming via future firmware updates; the 100 km figure is the radio's maximum link range.
- Throughput and range values may vary depending on environmental conditions. Operating frequencies and maximum TX power depend on the regulatory region.
- Ubiquiti lists one operating mode, PtP, in bridge mode. A point-to-point link needs a radio at each end.
- Power comes from the included 54V DC, 0.56A 10 GbE PoE adapter over passive PoE. Ubiquiti also lists a 22–27V DC supported voltage range.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is a point-to-point radio for linking two sites over 5 GHz, running in bridge mode. Ubiquiti rates it at 5+ Gbps total throughput and up to 100 km link range, with dual 5 GHz WiFi 7-based radios and Multi-Link Operation for enhanced throughput and reliable connectivity.
Not yet. Ubiquiti states that MLO operation is limited to 20 km, with longer ranges coming via future firmware updates. The 100 km figure is the radio's maximum link range, and Ubiquiti notes that throughput and range vary with environmental conditions.
Ubiquiti does not list an antenna as included. The radio has two waterproof RP-SMA RF connections and one GPS connection, and Ubiquiti states it is compatible with airMAX antennas, airFiber X antennas, UISP Dish and UISP Horn. Tell us the link distance and we can help you choose.
By passive PoE from the included 54V DC, 0.56A 10 GbE PoE adapter, with a maximum power consumption of 20W. Data connects through one 10 GbE RJ45 port or one 10G SFP+ port.
Ubiquiti lists UISP support together with Ping Watchdog and an NTP client, plus built-in utilities for antenna alignment, site survey, speed test, ping, traceroute and discovery. A dedicated spectral analysis radio and channel puncturing help with planning and interference.
