Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Pro Max 24 (USW-Pro-Max-24)
A 24-port, Layer 3 Etherlighting switch with 2.5 GbE. Sixteen GbE and eight 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports, plus two 10G SFP+ uplinks, give 112 Gbps of switching capacity in a 1U rack-mount chassis with a 1.3" touchscreen. It has an internal power supply and is DC power backup ready with the UniFi RPS. This model has no PoE output. It is managed in UniFi Network 8.0.24 and later.
Quick Glance
Key Features
2.5 GbE ports and 10G SFP+ uplinks
Sixteen 1 GbE and eight 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports, plus two 10G SFP+ ports that also run at 1G. The switch delivers 112 Gbps switching capacity, 56 Gbps total non-blocking throughput and an 83 Mpps forwarding rate, with a 1.5 MB packet buffer and a 16,000-entry MAC address table.
Layer 3 and Pro AV in UniFi Network
Layer 3 features include a DHCP server and relay, inter-VLAN routing and up to 256 IPv4 static routes, with 1,000 VLANs. Pro AV profiles cover Play, Dante, Q-SYS, NDI, SDVoE, Shure, AES67 and Crestron, alongside 802.1X control, IP- and MAC-based ACLs, DHCP snooping and storm control.
Etherlighting with DC power backup ready
Etherlighting ports illuminate to show port location, speed/link and native VLAN/network, and a 1.3" touchscreen sits on the front. An internal 60W AC/DC supply runs from 100–240V AC, with a USP RPS DC input for DC power backup with the UniFi RPS. Maximum power consumption is 50W.
Detailed Specifications
Specifications are from Ubiquiti's official technical specifications and store listing for the Switch Pro Max 24 (USW-Pro-Max-24). This model has no PoE output; DC power backup needs the UniFi RPS, a separate product.
Need-to-Know
- This is the non-PoE Switch Pro Max 24: Ubiquiti's specification lists no PoE ports and no PoE budget for it. The Switch Pro Max 24 PoE is Ubiquiti's PoE version.
- DC power backup works with the UniFi RPS, connected through the switch's USP RPS DC input. The RPS is a separate Ubiquiti product.
- For optimal Etherlighting brightness Ubiquiti recommends pairing the switch with UniFi Etherlighting Patch Cables.
- Layer 3 features listed are DHCP server and relay, inter-VLAN routing and static routing (256 IPv4 static routes). Ubiquiti's specification lists no dynamic routing protocol for this switch.
- Ubiquiti rates the ambient operating temperature at -5 to 40° C. Plan rack cooling accordingly in UAE server rooms. Ubiquiti does not state the power cord plug type.
