Quick Glance
Key Features
Eight doors from one hub
Controls and monitors up to eight doors, with eight lock terminals (12V or dry contact) for broad lock compatibility, eight request-to-exit inputs, eight door position inputs and four AUX terminals for chimes, sirens or door openers. Ubiquiti rates the hub for up to 10,000 users.
Eight PoE+ ports for readers and paired cameras
Eight PoE+ outputs at 50V DC supply power and data to connected UniFi Access Readers and paired cameras, with up to 30W per port and 190W aggregated. The hub has ten 10/100/1000 Base-T ports in total and is managed in the UniFi Access application.
Battery backup and emergency input
A dedicated PP45 cable input connects an external 32–48V DC lead acid backup battery for continued operation during power interruptions. A dedicated emergency input lets the system respond immediately to fire alarms or critical override signals. Main power is a universal 100–240V AC input.
Detailed Specifications
Specifications are Ubiquiti's own, from its technical specification and store pages for the Enterprise Access Hub (EAH-8). Readers, locks, sensors and the backup battery are not listed as part of the hub.
Need-to-Know
- Ubiquiti describes the backup battery as external: the hub has a dedicated PP45 cable input for a 32–48V DC lead acid battery. Ubiquiti does not list a battery as part of the hub.
- The EAH-8 is rated for indoor use only, from 0 to 40° C. Install it in a comms room or cabinet, not on an exposed wall.
- The eight PoE+ outputs share a 190W aggregated budget, with up to 30W on any one port. Check the combined draw of the readers and paired cameras you connect.
- Ubiquiti publishes maximum lock cable lengths by lock type and wire gauge, from 9 m for other 1A locks on 24 AWG up to 100 m for the UA-Lock-Electric on UACC-Cable-DoorLockRelay. Plan lock cable runs against those figures.
- Readers, locks, door sensors and the backup battery are separate items; Ubiquiti lists only terminals and ports for them on the hub.
