UniFi Cloud Gateway | 1U Rack Mount
Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine Pro Max (UDM-Pro-Max)
A 10G Cloud Gateway in a 1U rack-mount chassis that runs the full UniFi application suite and manages 200+ UniFi devices and 2,000+ clients, twice the device and client capacity of the Dream Machine Pro/SE. Ubiquiti rates routing with IDS/IPS at 5 Gbps. It has a 10G SFP+ and a 2.5 GbE RJ45 WAN port, a 10G SFP+ and eight GbE RJ45 LAN ports, two 3.5" NVR HDD bays with RAID data protection, a built-in 128 GB SSD and DC power backup through UniFi RPS.
Quick Glance
Key Features
5 Gbps routing with IDS/IPS and Layer 7 firewall
Ubiquiti rates IDS/IPS throughput at 5 Gbps, with 55,000+ IDS/IPS signatures with CyberSecure. The gateway adds a stateful and application-aware Layer 7 firewall, DPI and traffic identification, zone-based filtering by region, domain and app, content filtering, ad blocking and VLAN/subnet traffic segmentation.
Full UniFi suite with redundant NVR storage
Runs UniFi Network, Protect, Access, Talk and Connect: 200+ UniFi devices, 2,000+ clients, up to 50 HD, 25 2K or 15 4K cameras and 150 access hubs. Two 3.5" NVR HDD bays with RAID data protection, plus a built-in 128 GB SSD for NVR detection recordings. Quad-core 2.0 GHz processor and 8 GB memory.
10G uplinks, multi-WAN and failover
Two 10G SFP+, one 2.5 GbE RJ45 and eight GbE RJ45 ports, with one 10G SFP+ and the 2.5 GbE RJ45 as the default WAN ports and up to 8 WAN ports in total. Multi-WAN load balancing, Shadow Mode (VRRP) gateway failover, LACP on GbE ports 1-8, license-free SD-WAN, site-to-site VPN and DC power backup using UniFi RPS.
Detailed Specifications
Specifications are from Ubiquiti's official technical specifications and store page for the UniFi Dream Machine Pro Max (UDM-Pro-Max). Device, client and camera counts are Ubiquiti's guidance figures; real capacity depends on the traffic and applications in use.
Need-to-Know
- The two 3.5" NVR HDD bays are for UniFi Protect recordings, with RAID data protection. Ubiquiti's specification does not list hard drives as included; the built-in 128 GB SSD is integrated.
- Ubiquiti recommends pairing the 10G SFP+ ports with an official SFP+ module or SFP+ to RJ45 adapter. No SFP+ module is listed as included.
- Power is universal AC input, 100–240V AC, through an internal 100W power supply. DC power backup needs a separate UniFi RPS on the USP-RPS DC input. Ubiquiti does not state the mains plug or power cord type.
- The 55,000+ IDS/IPS signature figure is Ubiquiti's figure with CyberSecure. Additional internet failover uses a separate UniFi LTE Backup device.
- Ubiquiti's specification lists no built-in wireless radio for the Dream Machine Pro Max. Wireless coverage comes from separate UniFi access points.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ubiquiti describes enhanced computing power and memory for 2x the UniFi device and client capacity of the Dream Machine Pro/SE: 200+ devices and 2,000+ clients, 5 Gbps IDS/IPS routing, a 2.5 GbE RJ45 WAN port, two 3.5" NVR HDD bays with RAID data protection and a built-in 128 GB SSD.
Ubiquiti lists up to 50 HD, 25 2K or 15 4K cameras in UniFi Protect, plus 150 access hubs in UniFi Access. Recordings go to the two 3.5" NVR HDD bays; Ubiquiti does not list hard drives as included.
Ubiquiti lists IDS/IPS throughput of 5 Gbps. The default WAN ports are one 10G SFP+ and one 2.5 GbE RJ45, and the maximum WAN port count is 8 for multi-WAN load balancing.
Ubiquiti lists DC power backup through a USP-RPS DC input (11.5V DC, 8.7A), enabled with a separate UniFi RPS. For gateway redundancy it also supports Shadow Mode (VRRP) gateway failover.
No wireless radio appears in Ubiquiti's specification for the UDM-Pro-Max. It is a wired rack-mount gateway; add UniFi access points for wireless and manage them from the same UniFi Network application.
