Key Features
Door Hub, G2 Reader and ten cards in one box
Ubiquiti's kit contains one Door Hub, one G2 Reader and ten Access Cards, designed to manage a single door with one reader. The cards are ISO 7810 ID-1 NFC cards at 13.56 MHz using MIFARE DESFire and the UniFi Access Proprietary Security Protocol. Everything is managed in the UniFi Access application.
Compact G2 Reader with NFC and mobile unlock
The G2 Reader opens the door with NFC cards and keyfobs or mobile unlock, and supports handwave request to exit through its proximity sensor. It reads at 13.56 MHz with a range under 30 mm, has BLE 4.1, a 0.7W speaker and R/G/B/W LEDs, and is IP55-rated for indoor and outdoor use from -30 to 45° C.
One PoE++ input powers the hub and reader
The Door Hub takes a single PoE++ input (50V DC, 1A) and has five 10/100/1000 Base-T ports, including four PoE outputs at up to 30W per port and 45W aggregated, to power the reader. Lock and AUX relays, two exit request inputs, a door position input and an emergency input cover the door hardware.
Detailed Specifications
Specifications are Ubiquiti's own, from its technical specification and store pages for the Access G2 Starter Kit, which lists the Door Hub, G2 Reader and Access Card separately. Locks, door sensors and the PoE++ power source are not listed in the box. Ubiquiti publishes no weight for the complete kit.
Need-to-Know
- Ubiquiti lists the box contents as one Door Hub, one G2 Reader and ten Access Cards. A lock, door sensors and the PoE++ power source for the hub are not listed and are chosen separately.
- The Door Hub is powered by a PoE++ input (50V DC, 1A) and is rated for 0 to 40° C, so it belongs indoors, typically on a DIN rail in a cabinet. The G2 Reader is the part rated for outdoor use (IP55).
- The hub's four PoE outputs share a 45W aggregated budget, with up to 30W on any one port.
- Ubiquiti publishes maximum lock cable lengths by lock type and wire gauge, from 9 m for other 1A locks on 24 AWG up to 100 m for the UA-Lock-Electric on UACC-Cable-DoorLockRelay. Plan lock cable runs against those figures.
- Ubiquiti publishes no weight for the complete kit. Its component weights are 363 g for the hub, 82 g for the reader and 5 g for each card.

With NFC cards and keyfobs, including the ten included Access Cards, or with mobile unlock. It also supports handwave request to exit using its proximity sensor. The reader works at 13.56 MHz with a read range under 30 mm.
The Door Hub takes a single PoE++ input at 50V DC, 1A, and powers the reader from one of its four PoE outputs (up to 30W per port, 45W aggregated). The reader draws up to 5W. The hub draws up to 30W without PoE output and 50W with it.
Yes. Ubiquiti rates the G2 Reader for indoor and outdoor use, IP55, from -30 to 45° C. The Door Hub is rated 0 to 40° C and mounts on a DIN rail, so it should be installed indoors.
The hub has lock and AUX outputs as dry relays (30V DC, 1A) or powered relays (lock 12V DC, 1A; AUX 12V DC, 0.33A). Ubiquiti publishes cable length limits for its UA-Lock-Electric and UA-Lock-Magnetic locks and for other 1A locks.
