UISP Router | 8-Port Gigabit PoE
Ubiquiti UISP Router (UISP-R)
An eight-port Gigabit PoE router designed for MicroPoP applications in secure, large-scale ISP networks. It has eight GbE RJ45 ports with 27V passive PoE output and one 1G SFP port, routes at up to 1 Gbps NAT throughput, and adds firewalling, OSPF routing, traffic shaping and automated customer suspension. Managed with UISP, and powered by the included 27V DC adapter.
Quick Glance
Key Features
Eight GbE ports with 27V passive PoE output
All eight GbE RJ45 ports output 27V passive PoE, 2-pair or 4-pair, at up to 15W per port (2-pair) or 30W per port (4-pair). Ubiquiti quotes 110W (27V) of total PoE availability when the router is powered with the included AC/DC adapter. One 1G SFP port adds a fibre link.
Up to 1 Gbps NAT with ISP traffic tools
Ubiquiti rates NAT throughput at up to 1 Gbps, or up to 500 Mbps with NetFlow enabled and up to 400 Mbps with traffic shaping enabled. Traffic shaping, automated customer suspension, a firewall and OSPF routing suit MicroPoP sites that serve subscribers.
Managed with UISP, set up over Bluetooth
Managed through the UISP application (version 1.4.0 and later), with in-band Ethernet management and Bluetooth BLE for setup. Inside is a dual-core 880 MHz MIPS1004Kc processor with 512 MB DDR3 memory and 512 MB NAND flash, in a polycarbonate enclosure of 210.4 x 95 x 29 mm.
Detailed Specifications
Specifications are from Ubiquiti's official technical specifications and store listing for the UISP Router (UISP-R). Throughput figures are Ubiquiti's up-to values; real performance depends on the traffic and features in use.
Need-to-Know
- The PoE output is 27V passive PoE, not standards-based PoE in Ubiquiti's specification. Check that each powered device accepts 27V passive PoE before connecting it.
- Ubiquiti's 110W total PoE figure applies when the router is powered with the included AC/DC adapter (27V DC, 4.4A). Per port, it is 15W on 2-pair or 30W on 4-pair.
- NAT throughput is up to 1 Gbps, dropping to up to 500 Mbps with NetFlow enabled or up to 400 Mbps with traffic shaping enabled, per Ubiquiti.
- Ubiquiti says the router can be staged outdoors only when enclosed in the UISP Box, which is sold separately. Ubiquiti does not state the adapter's plug type.
- Management needs the UISP application, version 1.4.0 or later. This is a UISP product, not a UniFi Network device.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ubiquiti designed the UISP-R for MicroPoP applications: small points of presence in service-provider networks. It powers connected devices over 27V passive PoE on eight GbE ports and adds traffic shaping, automated customer suspension, a firewall and OSPF routing.
Ubiquiti quotes up to 1 Gbps NAT throughput. With NetFlow enabled the figure is up to 500 Mbps, and with traffic shaping enabled it is up to 400 Mbps.
27V passive PoE on all eight RJ45 ports, 2-pair or 4-pair, up to 15W per port on 2-pair and 30W per port on 4-pair. Total PoE availability is 110W (27V) when powered with the included adapter. Make sure your devices accept 27V passive PoE.
Yes. Ubiquiti lists a 27V DC, 4.4A power adapter as included. The router accepts 24—28V DC and draws 10W at most, excluding PoE output. Ubiquiti does not state the plug type.
Only inside the UISP Box, which Ubiquiti sells separately. The router itself has a polycarbonate enclosure rated for -10 to 50° C ambient operating temperature and 5 to 95% noncondensing humidity.
