UISP LTU Long-Range Client
Ubiquiti UISP LTU Extreme-Range 5 GHz Client LTU-XR
The Ubiquiti LTU Extreme-Range (LTU-XR) is a 5 GHz LTU client that establishes extremely long-distance wireless links with an LTU Rocket serving as its base station. Ubiquiti rates it for a 30+ km link range and 900+ Mbps throughput (firmware 2.3.0 and later), with a 29 dBi antenna, a dedicated spectral analysis radio and an integrated pole mount. It is compatible with LTU devices only.
Quick Glance
Key Features
Extremely long-distance 5 GHz LTU links
A 5 GHz LTU client that links to an LTU Rocket serving as its base station, rated by Ubiquiti for a 30+ km link range. The 29 dBi antenna has a 5.5° beamwidth at 3 dB, with 25 dBm maximum conducted TX power across 5.15 to 5.95 GHz (depending on the regulatory region).
900+ Mbps with flexible channel widths
Ubiquiti rates maximum throughput at 900+ Mbps with firmware version 2.3.0 and later, and channel bandwidths of 10/20/30/40/50/60/80/100 MHz on the same firmware. Uplink/downlink ratios of 25/75, 33/67 and 50/50 let the link be weighted to the traffic it carries.
Spectral analysis radio and easy setup
A dedicated spectral analysis radio, with airView, alignment, speed test, cable test and constellation utilities. Setup is over Bluetooth with the UISP App or through the web UI, and Ubiquiti describes the unit as easy to assemble. Auto distance and auto power adjustment are built in.
Detailed Specifications
All specifications are Ubiquiti's own, from its official tech specs and store pages for the LTU Extreme-Range (LTU-XR). Throughput and the widest channel bandwidths need firmware version 2.3.0 or later; the operating frequency depends on the regulatory region.
Need-to-Know
- Ubiquiti states the LTU Extreme-Range is compatible with LTU devices only. It is a client: it links to an LTU Rocket serving as its base station, so plan an LTU Rocket at the other end.
- The 900+ Mbps throughput and the 80/100 MHz channel widths need firmware version 2.3.0 or later. PtP mode needs 1.5.1 and later 1.5.x series firmware, and Router mode is available in PtMP CPE mode only.
- The 5.15 to 5.95 GHz operating frequency depends on the regulatory region, so the channels you can use depend on local regulations.
- A 24V, 0.5A gigabit PoE adapter is included. Ubiquiti does not state the adapter's mains plug type.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is a 5 GHz LTU client that establishes extremely long-distance wireless links with an LTU Rocket serving as its base station. Ubiquiti states it is compatible with LTU devices only, so it will not link to non-LTU radios.
Ubiquiti rates the link range at 30+ km and maximum throughput at 900+ Mbps with firmware version 2.3.0 and later. Real-world range and speed depend on line of sight, the channel width allowed in your region and the base station at the other end.
By passive PoE 2-pair (pins 4, 5 positive; 7, 8 negative) over its GbE RJ45 port, with a supported voltage range of 22–27V DC and 9W maximum consumption. A 24V, 0.5A gigabit PoE adapter is included; Ubiquiti does not state its plug type.
It has an integrated pole mount (included) for poles of Ø35 to 60 mm. Ubiquiti rates its weatherproofing at IPX6, its operating temperature at -40 to 55° C and its wind loading at 1100 N at 200 km/h. It measures 747 x 525 x 347 mm and weighs 3.2 kg.
Through Bluetooth management with the UISP App on an iOS or Android smartphone, or through the web UI in any modern web browser. Services include SNMP, SSH, dynamic DNS, remote log and ping watchdog, with airView, alignment and speed test utilities.
