A four-bay 1U NAS just 292 mm deep, for the shallow wall-mount and AV cabinets a full-depth rackmount will not fit. Intel Celeron N5095, 8 GB of DDR4 expandable to 16 GB, two 2.5GbE ports that trunk to 5 Gbps, and two onboard M.2 NVMe slots for caching. Supplied without drives — you choose and budget for those separately.

292 mm deep — it fits where others do not
A 1U short-depth chassis a little over half the depth of a standard rackmount NAS, for wall-mounted comms boxes, AV racks and the shallow cabinets common in fitted-out offices. Hangers and holders are in the box.
Two onboard M.2 NVMe slots
Two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3 slots for SSD caching or Qtier auto-tiering, fitted without giving up an expansion slot — useful where lots of small random reads, like virtual machines, would otherwise wait on spinning drives.
Dual 2.5GbE, trunked to 5 Gbps
Two 2.5GbE RJ45 ports that negotiate down to 1G and 100M, so existing CAT5e cabling still works. Port Trunking combines them for up to 5 Gbps on backup windows and large file transfers.

Need-to-Know
- The TS-464eU ships as a bare enclosure. Budget for four SATA drives on top, and check them against QNAP's compatibility list before ordering — not every drive is validated for NAS use.
- Memory tops out at 16 GB across two SODIMM slots, and 8 GB of that is already fitted. QNAP is explicit that unsupported modules may degrade performance, cause errors or prevent the operating system from starting, so plan on QNAP modules.
- The warranty is split: 3 years on the NAS itself, but 1 year on the bundled accessories.
- There is no PCIe expansion slot, so dual 2.5GbE is the network ceiling — a 10GbE card is not an option on this model. What you get instead is two onboard M.2 NVMe slots for SSD caching. That is the reverse of the similarly-named TS-464U, which has the PCIe slot but no onboard M.2, so check which trade-off you actually want before ordering.
- The TS-464eU is supplied as a diskless enclosure. Hard drives and SSDs are not included and are ordered separately — ask us and we will quote drives alongside the unit.

No. It is sold as a diskless enclosure, so you choose the drives to suit the capacity and budget you need. It takes four 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, plus up to two M.2 NVMe SSDs for caching. Check any drive against QNAP's compatibility list first — we are happy to quote validated NAS drives alongside the unit.
It is a 1U unit measuring 43.3 × 430 × 292.1 mm. The 292 mm depth is the point of this model — it suits shallow wall-mounted and AV cabinets that a full-depth rackmount NAS will not fit. Hangers and holders are in the box; the RAIL-S02 short-depth rail kit for a four-post cabinet is an optional extra.
They share a processor but trade off differently. The TS-464eU is short-depth and has two onboard M.2 NVMe slots but no PCIe expansion slot, so 2.5GbE is its network ceiling. The TS-464U is full depth with a PCIe slot — which can take a 10GbE card or an M.2 adapter, but not both — and no onboard M.2. Pick on depth and on whether you need 10GbE; ask us if you would like the two compared for your setup.
