The IRIScan Desk 6 is a foldable overhead camera that scans A4 pages, pocket books and photos in under a second, using an 8 MP sensor with a 12 MP interpolated output. It folds flat for storage and unfolds into a working scanner with built-in LED lighting, AI page-turn detection and finger removal for book digitising, plus word-by-word Text to Speech reading. It connects to a PC or Mac over USB with no drivers to install for basic use.

The Desk 6 uses an 8.0-megapixel CMOS sensor with software interpolation up to 12 MP, giving a maximum capture of 3264 x 2448 pixels. It is enough resolution to keep small print legible on an A4 page or a paperback, without the file sizes of a flatbed scan.
Under a second per page in colour
Canon's IRIS software captures an A4 or letter-size page in less than one second in colour mode, so turning pages by hand keeps pace with the scan rather than waiting on it. Output resolution is 300 DPI in colour, black and white or greyscale.
AI page-turn detection and finger removal
Built-in AI detects when a page is turned and removes fingers holding a book open from the captured image automatically, so a book can be digitised page by page without stopping to retouch each shot. Front and back cover detection is included for whole-book jobs.

- This is a document camera, not a flatbed or ADF scanner, so it has no optical scan resolution rating; sharpness depends on the 8 MP sensor and the 12 MP interpolated output, not a scan-head DPI figure.
