Required for Lamination Modules
HID does not recommend PVC in the DTC4500e, DTC1500 or HDP lamination modules and recommends composite cards instead. If you laminate, this is the card.

Check the card specification in your printer’s consumables sheet. The HDP5000 accepts CR-80, 30–50 mil, PET, PETG or polycarbonate; the HDP6600 accepts CR-80, 30–40 mil in the same materials; the DTC printers accept CR-80 or CR-79, 9–40 mil PVC or polyester. The 082136 is CR-80, 30 mil composite, which sits inside all of them. Send us a photo of your printer on WhatsApp and we will confirm. HID writes this part number with a leading zero, 082136, but you will also see it written 82136 on invoices and supplier quotes — same card either way.
Whenever heat is involved or the card has to last. HID does not recommend PVC in the DTC4500e, DTC1500 or HDP lamination modules, and states composite provides enhanced durability over PVC against heated retransfer and lamination rollers. For a visitor pass that lives a week, PVC (081754) is fine.

HID publishes no year rating, so we do not quote one — but warpage and cracking are precisely what kills a daily-worn badge.
No. The composite card with a high-coercivity magnetic stripe is HID part number 082137, also 500 per box. Ask us and we will source it.
HID states that FARGO card printers and encoders require highly specialised media to function properly, and that HID warranties are void, where not prohibited by law, when non-HID consumables are used. On a machine where the printhead is the expensive part, that is the whole argument: the media runs against the printhead on every card.
