Epson T966 XXL Black Ink Cartridge (WorkForce Pro WF-M52xx / WF-M57xx)
The WF-M5299 and WF-M5799 are Epson’s monochrome business inkjets — built to replace a mono laser in a busy workgroup. Heat-Free Technology means no fuser and no warm-up, so power draw is a fraction of a laser’s and the first page is out almost immediately.
This is the XXL black cartridge, rated at 40,000 pages. It is the lowest cost per page in the range by a wide margin, and holds enough for months of ordinary workgroup printing.

Both models above take every tier in this range. These are mono-only machines, so there is one cartridge to stock rather than four. They do not share ink with the newer WF-M5399DW or WF-M5899DWF, which take T12D, T12E and T12F packs instead.
Page yields are Epson’s own approximate figures, measured to ISO/IEC 19752. Actual yield varies with what you print and how the machine is used — Epson publishes the detail at epson.eu/pageyield.
These WorkForce Pro models also consume a maintenance box (C13T671600), which collects waste ink and is shared across the WF-C5xxx, WF-M52xx and WF-M57xx ranges. We can supply it — ask us to add one to your ink order.

The same black ink is sold in three yield tiers. Higher tiers cost less per page and need changing less often; the part number changes with the tier, so order against the right code.

The step from XL to XXL is four times the yield, so for any workgroup printing steadily it is usually the one worth costing out. All three tiers fit both printers, and you can move between them at any time.
