Need-to-Know
This page currently offers one size, the 38-inch-class U3821DW (37.52-inch viewable diagonal). Its key figures are below; if Dell adds another size of this model, it will be listed here alongside.
- Dell lists 3840 x 1600 at 60 Hz as the maximum preset resolution and needs a graphics card that supports HDMI 2.0 for that resolution over HDMI. Dell says the HDMI ports do not support the optional HDMI 2.0 features HEC, ARC, 3D format standard or 4K digital cinema resolution.
- The USB Type-C upstream port supports Alternate mode with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery up to 90 W; a laptop that needs more power than that should also keep its own charger.
- Dell advises against mounting or using this monitor in vertical orientation or in an inverted landscape mount, as that may damage it.
- Dell lists 2 x 9 W speakers and an audio line-out port, and states headphone use is not supported on the audio line-out connector.
