Single-pass duplex scanning, no software needed
The R10 scans both sides of a page in a single pass and works the moment it is plugged in — CaptureOnTouch Lite is built into the scanner itself, so there is nothing to install on a Windows or Mac computer. It scans at 12 ppm / 14 ipm in mono and 9 ppm / 10 ipm in colour.
Pocket-sized for a laptop bag
Closed, the R10 measures 285 x 95 x 40 mm and weighs approximately 0.9 kg, small enough to travel in a laptop bag. It runs entirely on USB bus power, so there is no separate power adapter to carry between locations.
Handles cards as well as paper
A 20-sheet feeder takes ordinary A4 documents, and the same feeder accepts business cards and plastic cards up to 1.4 mm thick, including embossed cards, so IDs and paperwork go through the same scanner.

Need-to-Know
The R10 is Canon's simplest portable scanner, built to run without installing any software. The P-208II and P-215II trade that simplicity for a larger feeder and higher speed.
- USB only — there is no Wi-Fi or network connection on the R10. It scans to the computer it is plugged into and draws its power from the same USB cable.
- Canon's driver list for the R10 names Windows 8.1 and 10, and macOS 10.12 through 10.15. If you run Windows 11 or a newer macOS, ask us to confirm current driver support before you order.
- The built-in CaptureOnTouch Lite software runs directly from the scanner, so there is no separate driver disc or download needed to start scanning.
- Canon's suggested daily duty cycle for the R10 is approximately 500 scans. For a heavier daily volume, the P-215II or a desktop model would suit better.
