A compact desktop scanner built for offices that need more speed than an entry-level model without giving up desk space. The DR-C230 scans both sides of a page in a single pass at 30 ppm / 60 ipm in colour and mono, feeds up to 60 sheets at a time, and is rated for 2,000 to 4,500 scans a day. The same sheet-fed path also takes business cards, plastic ID cards and passports, so everyday paper and identity documents go through one scanner.

Both sides of a page are captured in one pass at the same rated speed in colour and in mono. Ultrasonic double-feed detection stops a batch when two sheets go through together, and the scanner is rated for 2,000 to 4,500 scans a day.
Cards, passports and long documents on one scanner
The sheet-fed path takes business cards from 50.8 x 85 mm, plastic and embossed cards up to 1.4 mm thick, and passports up to 4 mm thick with an optional carrier sheet. Long document mode handles pages up to 3000 mm.
Compact desktop footprint
With the trays closed the DR-C230 measures 291 x 253 x 231 mm and weighs approximately 2.8 kg, keeping the footprint small on a shared desk while still feeding 60 sheets at once.

The DR-C230 sits above the DR-C225 II for offices that need more daily volume, and below the DR-C240 for the fastest desktop scanning in this line.
- USB only — there is no network or Wi-Fi connection on this model. It scans to the computer it is plugged into.
- Canon's Windows driver list for this model names Windows 7 SP1 through 10 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 through 2016. If you run Windows 11, ask us to confirm current driver support before you order.
- Passports need the optional carrier sheet and scan up to 4mm thick; plastic cards up to 0.76mm (embossed up to 1.4mm) and business cards from 50.8 x 85mm go through without one.
- The A4 Flatbed Scanner Unit 102 and A3 Flatbed Scanner Unit 202 are optional accessories sold separately — the DR-C230 itself is sheet-fed only, so bound books need a flatbed unit.
