The UV edition of Canon's high-speed counter scanner, adding built-in ultraviolet sensors to authenticate anti-fraud logos on cheques and flag surface rubbing that may indicate tampering. The CR-120 UV adds anti-fraud UV scanning to Canon's high-speed counter scanner without giving up its 120 cpm throughput.
- USB only — there is no network or Wi-Fi connection on this model. It scans to the computer it is plugged into.
- The ink cartridge for the built-in imprinter is not included with the scanner — Canon's own footnote states it is sold separately.
- Windows only. Canon publishes no macOS driver for the CR-120 UV, and its Windows driver list names Vista, 7, 8.1 and 10 (plus Server 2008 R2/2012 R2). If you run Windows 11, ask us to confirm current driver support before you order.
- The standard CR-120 (without UV sensors) scans at the same 120 cpm speed if you do not need anti-fraud UV detection — see the CR-120 page.
- The magnetic swipe reader is an optional accessory that installs into the scanner body; it is not fitted as standard.
