USB-C for the desk, Bluetooth for the phone
Connect over USB-C to print from a PC, or pair over Bluetooth Dual-Mode to print from a phone or tablet without carrying a cable. The rechargeable Li-ion battery, a USB-C cable and a hard carrying case are included, so it goes straight from the box to a site bag.

- The HSe heat-shrink tube on this model uses a 3:1 shrink ratio (5.2, 9.0, 11.2 and 21.0 mm) — a different, incompatible sizing family from 2:1 heat-shrink tube. Check the ratio before ordering heat-shrink tape for this printer.
- Print speed depends on how it is powered. Brother rates the machine at up to 30 mm/sec, and its specification table separately rates battery operation at up to 20 mm/sec. Plan on the lower figure for a long run away from a socket.
- Brother's specification lists no AC adapter for this model — power comes from the included rechargeable Li-ion battery or directly over the USB-C cable.
- This is a keypad machine: it has its own QWERTY keyboard and small LCD, so it can be used standalone without a phone or PC. Bluetooth and USB-C are there for when you do want to print from a connected device.
