A standalone handheld label printer built for electrical and datacomm work: type on the QWERTY keypad, choose from 200 built-in electrical and datacomm symbols, and print straight onto Brother TZe laminated tape up to 12 mm wide. It has no PC or app connection — everything happens on the keypad and the 16-character display — so it goes in a tool bag and works without a laptop, a phone or a signal. Brother's own symbol library on this machine holds 200 electrical and datacomm icons, so conduit, earth, phase and cable markings are a keypress away rather than typed out by hand. It also prints nine 1D barcode symbologies — CODE39, CODE128, ITF 2/5, EAN13, EAN8, UPC-A, UPC-E, CODABAR and GS1-128 — with sequential numbering from 1 to 50 for a run of identical ports or cores.
6 mm to 12 mm on genuine TZe tape
Takes Brother TZe laminated tape cassettes in 6, 9 and 12 mm widths, printing up to three lines on the widest tape and down to one line on the narrowest. At 180 dpi and 20 mm per second it is built for turning out labels one at a time on site, not for long batch runs from a spreadsheet.
Runs on batteries, no PC needed
This is a standalone keypad machine — Brother's own specification lists no USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection, so there is nothing to plug in or pair. It takes 6 AAA alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, or the AD-24ES AC adapter, and switches off automatically after around five minutes idle to save power.
