Page yield is based on ISO/IEC 24711, measured with continuous printing from a new cartridge after printer setup. The two figures in the Page Yield tab are per cartridge, not for the bundle as a whole, and the colour figure is the average yield of the cyan, magenta and yellow inks combined rather than what each colour prints on its own. Both are averages for comparing cartridges on a like-for-like basis, not guarantees — Canon notes that yield varies significantly with what you print. Photographs, full-page colour and heavy graphics use far more ink than plain text, and borderless photo printing uses more again.

This listing is a bundle we put together: one original Canon PG-445 and one original Canon CL-446, each supplied in its own Canon retail pack rather than boxed together by Canon. Choose the XL cartridges if you print in any volume. The PG-445XL holds 15 ml against the standard cartridge's 8 ml and Canon rates it for 400 A4 pages instead of 180; the CL-446XL holds 13 ml against 8 ml and is rated for 300 pages instead of 180. For very light or occasional printing the standard cartridges are cheaper up front, but the XL pair is usually the better cost per page.

Yes. The standard PG-445 and CL-446 and the XL PG-445XL and CL-446XL all fit the same PIXMA printers listed in the Compatible Printers tab above. The difference is how much ink is inside, not the physical fit — you can switch between them at any time.
