You can also check the ink or maintenance menu on the printer's display, or look up your printer model in the Compatible Printers tab above. If you are still unsure, send us your printer's model number and we will confirm the right cartridge for you before you order.

The Canon CL-461XL is designed for the Canon PIXMA TS5340, TS5340a, TS7440 and TS7440a. If your printer is not listed in the Compatible Printers tab above, this is not the correct cartridge — contact us and we will identify the right one.

Page yield is based on ISO/IEC 24711, measured with continuous printing from a new cartridge after printer setup. For a tri-colour cartridge the figure is the average yield of the cyan, magenta and yellow inks combined, not what each colour prints on its own. It is an average for comparing cartridges on a like-for-like basis, not a guarantee — Canon notes that yield varies significantly with what you print. Photographs, full-page colour and heavy graphics use far more ink than plain text, and borderless photo printing uses more again.

Choose the CL-461XL if you print colour regularly — it holds 12.2 ml instead of 8.3 ml and Canon rates it for 300 A4 pages against 180. For occasional colour the standard CL-461 is usually the better value up front. Note that both are single tri-colour cartridges: all three inks sit in one unit, so it is replaced when any one colour runs out.
