Genuine Brother laminated label tape — 9mm x 8m, in nine colour combinations. Choose your colour above; every option on this page is the same 9mm cassette and fits the same machines. Six layers with the printed text sealed between two protective films, tested by Brother from -80°C to +150°C and through two hours of chemical submersion. Fits any P-touch that takes TZe cassettes 9mm or wider.
Key Features
Six Layers, Not a Sticker
Brother laminated TZe tape is six layers deep, with the thermal-transfer text sealed between two PET films. A 1kg sanding head passed over it 50 times left the characters underneath completely unaffected.
Freezer to Engine Bay
Brother tested this construction from -80°C to +150°C. Seventy-two hours in deep cold changed neither adhesive nor colour, and two hours at 150°C left the text fully legible.
Water, Solvents and Sunlight
Two hours submerged in acetone, ethanol, toluene, hydrochloric acid and more left the print unmarked, and a year of simulated outdoor UV left the text unchanged.

They are two separate systems. TZe tape is laminated — six layers with the text sealed between two protective films, rated by Brother from -80°C to +150°C and tested against water, solvents and a year of UV. M tape is unlaminated, indoor-only, and fits only the small PT-65 to PT-90 handhelds. The cassettes are not interchangeable, so the tape your machine takes is decided by the machine, not by preference.
It depends entirely on how long your labels are and what margin the machine is set to, so any single figure would be misleading. What is fixed is the cassette length: 8 metres. As a rough guide, a 40mm label consumes about 50mm of tape once the machine's leading and trailing margins are added, so an 8m cassette gives you roughly 160 of them. Set a narrower margin in the machine's settings and you get noticeably more.

Brother's own testing puts laminated TZe from -80°C to +150°C, with no print discolouration after two hours submerged in water, ethanol, acetone or hydrochloric acid, and legible text after 478 hours of simulated sunlight — roughly a year outdoors.
